Maybe, We'll See

A DJ at a club finds a rare vinyl record in a crate at a flea market. The bouncer at the club says, "That’s a great find." The DJ replies, "Maybe, we’ll see."

That night, while playing the record, the needle skips, disrupting the music and emptying the dance floor. The bouncer says, "That’s unfortunate." The DJ says, "Maybe, we’ll see."

A week later, a video of the messy set gets posted online, with the intention of embarrassing the club,  but the original music catches the attention of a producer, who offers the DJ a chance to work together. The bouncer says, "This could be your big moment." The DJ replies, "Maybe, we’ll see."

While working with the producer, the mixer malfunctions, ruining the DJ’s laptop and losing their progress. The bouncer says, "That’s a real setback." The DJ says, "Maybe, we’ll see."

With no laptop, the DJ switches to an old drum machine and creates a rough, powerful beat that becomes a local hit, filling the club nightly. The bouncer says, "You’re set!" The DJ replies, "Maybe, we’ll see."

One busy night, the crowd gets out of hand, and a scuffle breaks the DJ’s turntables beyond repair. The bouncer says, "That’s a tough loss." The DJ says, "Maybe, we’ll see."

A video of the incident spreads, inspiring a local artist to build a striking light show for the DJ’s next set, which draws a huge crowd and lands a standing gig at a bigger club. The bouncer says, "You’re on top now." The DJ replies, "Maybe, we’ll see..."

My intention with this site and the posts in it, is to call out situations I see affecting those around me—sharing what I observe, how others react (and expect me to react), and exploring outcomes I can imagine, predict, or have witnessed. I know what I like and don’t, but I can’t predict the future or label what’s inherently good or bad. Like the DJ, there's no reason to despair—there’s always hope—especially when we look long-term.

People are resilient. Together, by supporting each other, we can endure almost anything.

This isn’t about twisting "bad" and calling it good, because "it will work out in the end, anyway" or vice versa. It’s about honesty and transparency—being clear on where we stand and what we see—to build the strength needed to face hardship.

As we share, we must make explicit our goals and desired outcomes, or we’ll be singing different songs, and harmony won’t hold for long—or for the right reasons.  We can't be travelling together, unless we know where the other is going, too.

Along the way, let’s have some fun! Thanks to AI, serendipitous initials, and domain scarcity, we’ve got a theme to play with. My hope? You’ll find encouragement in tough times and peace amid chaos—whether it’s people wrestling with despair or raging at everything, everywhere, all at once.

My intention with this site and the posts in it, is to call out situations I see impacting those around me; I plan to share what I see, noting how others react—and expect me to react—then exploring the outcomes I can imagine, predict, or have witnessed so far.

I know what I like and what I don’t, but I can’t predict the future or guarantee what’s good or bad. What I do know: people are tough. When we support each other, we can endure almost anything—together.

This isn’t about reframing evil as good or good as evil. It’s about trusting that honesty and transparency—about where we stand and how we see things—builds the resilience and strength we need to overcome hardship.

We will need to clarify our goals and the outcomes we hope to see achieved, otherwise we will be trying to harmonize with different songs in mind... harmony won't last long or for the right reasons.

Of course, we want to have a little fun along the way!  And thanks to AI, serendipitous initials, and scarcity of domains, we have a theme!

My hope is that you’ll find encouragement in challenging times and peace amid chaos—whether it’s the people around you, wrestling with hopelessness or raging at everything, everywhere, all the time.
